Biographie
Cat Eating Then Looking Up, also known as Mr. Fresh, Street Cat Livestream or Do They Mass-Produce These Cats In a Factory, refers to a series of cat livestream videos centering on one showing a cat eating food, looking up at the camera after a donation and then staring at the viewer. The viral video spread on TikTok and Twitter / X, among other platforms, in late 2023, predominantly spreading as a reaction GIF and exploitable meme. The video, and other livestream cat videos similar to it, came from the Chinese app Hello Street Cat, which is a 24/7 livestream app in which cameras are placed in stray "cat houses" where food is dispensed after user donations. One cat, nicknamed Mr. Fresh (MrFresh), gained a cult following among users. In early 2024, internet users compiled multiple stream clips from the app, likening the cats to being mass-produced in a factory. Mr. Fresh and the others then gained collective fan art and memes.
