so im revising my vote after finishing Chain of Iron, from ESFP to ENFP. This book did not do much right with Matthew's character, but it did emphasize that Matthew is very idealistic and is more drawn to the possibility of things than the actual doing of them. Matthew often overlooks details in favor of what he wants (his Magnus Bane phase, his Paris vision, he didn't think of many of the details when he moved out of his parents' house). Additionally, Matthew is more thoughtful than action oriented, which is an extremely important element of his character because his trauma makes him put on a carefree, impulsive, Se dom mask. He pretends that he's not aware of the consequences and that he's in it for the thrill. Nope. He's in it for the inspiration it provides. Other characters remember Matthew as someone who waxes poetic about all the things he's *going* to do, all the fun he *could* have as possibilities rather than realities. Additionally, Se doms aren't all that into hypotheticals. They're concrete thinkers. Matthew is...the exact opposite. in serious moments, he'll often veer to the hypothetical and "unlikely" side of the argument just because it interests him. Peak Ne dom.
