(1/7) tl;dr- This adorable yet confrontational (if you forgot how confrontational he is, just review chapter 26 lol) and sometimes smug boy is a *textbook* sp 3 (countertype/countervain) > so 9 (countertype/countersloth). He is legit one of my favorite sp 3 characters, so I hope my argument can do him justice! This argument will be based solely on the manga and not the anime. I won't be focusing on his MBTI in this argument, but I lean ISFJ for him. First, I want to start with two of my favorite lines (one from his sister, one from Chiyuki) about Ikuto in chapter 30: [Ikuto's sister about Ikuto]: "Ikuto's mornings are always like this. Nothing has changed since he started working for a designer. Even though Aoi, Ichika, and I try to share the chores, he still ends up doing them all. He works in the morning.. then comes home to do chores and get ready for school.. then takes Ichika to the nursery schoo, after school is over, he goes to work again. **There's no time, so he just sews while he walks,, he only gets to do what he likes.. and make the clothes he loves when it's nighttime.** That's why I'm worried. It's her final tournament in middle school, so Aoi doesn't have time for chores. When it was time for my high school entrance exams, I devoted all the time I had at home to studying, too. **But Ikuto always tries to do everything by himself.** I just wish.. that he'd focus more on himself. The luminaries of the past left behind many adages that all carry the same meaning: 'in order to gain something.. you must throw something away.' I've probably been working toward my dream for longer than he has. But I don't think that Ikuto isn't 'giving his all.' Not at all. It might actually be easier to just commit yourself to one specific thing and not care about anything else. **Imagine doing chores, working, taking care of your family, and chasing your dream at the same time.** You'd probably need a lot of resolve to not throw anything away and tackle everything all at once. I just can't do that. That's why I admire and respect him. But I don't want to lose to him, either. That's why.. you must win, Ikuto.
