He's not a 3, he's obsessed with the truth and his main motivation is knowledge (that's the point of this character in the part 4 of the manga), the gambles are a way for him to collect info on human beings. It's true he said once he wanted the praises of others but that's because he's been surrounded by fakeness since he was born, unable to exist by himself as a person, so it would be a motivation for any type. I do agree he has some 4-ish enneagram in him and it's proven by his hairstyle and the way he dresses.
