TI-SI LOOP ARGUMENT | Heavy Spoiler for his Chapter under the cut, proceed with caution. TW: talk of suicide. . . . . . . . I think the original Ortho's death didn't simply put him into a Fe grip but also put him into a Ti-Si loop due to how he coped with his brother's death: self-isolate in his own room for two years straight to "rebuild" his brother in the image of an android. However, it's clear from the get-go that Idia is very disillusioned by the existence of the "new" Ortho because he proceeded to break down after chiding others for not thinking about technological advancement and hinges on the morality of it. ! When an INTP is in this state, they lose interest in the outside world and turn into themselves and rely on their introverted functions (Ti, Si) to analyze past experiences to the point of mental burnout with no clear-cut answers. They literally fall deep into analysis paralysis with no new possibilities ahead from Ne, Just past experiences resurfacing and dominating their mind. - He has a very bleak view of the world around him and keeps to his own life often, as we see in the story. However, the point to go from here is his decision to rebuild his brother. "Ortho" is built upon Idia's analysis of the original Ortho's personality and memories, Idia spent two years trying to recover his brother from scratch. He never once stopped to consider that this might not be a good idea because he's blinded by grief, fueled ahead by only his desire to bring Ortho back. ! When in a loop, memories can be so tormenting. It depends on the kind of struggle that an INTP goes through that causes them to be in the loop. they keep replaying the past over and over, to see what went wrong. “Why didn’t I do it differently? Could I have changed the outcome? What should I do if something similar happens again”? etc. I think this is actually why Idia struggled so much with his own grief for Ortho. We actually see the clear aftermath and the ongoing of his Ti-Si loop since it affects his social ability severely. It even shows in his monologue during the aftermath of his overblot that he laments his past decision, Idia blames his own actions for Ortho's death a lot. To the point where he keeps wondering/hoping he has been born with a normal life instead of having the life he has. ! When they get trapped in this loop for an extended period of time, they must find a way to break out before their weakest functions are overworked and they become emotionally drained. This can be a very frustrating and debilitating experience. and that feeling of helplessness will unconsciously drive them away from people and even more into the loop. It's pretty clear that his Fe is exhausted - to the point where he cares for nobody except for Ortho, even his own worth is not a matter in Idia's mind. When the original Ortho calls for him, Idia comes readily without any regard for his own survival. Even during their conversation at the end, Idia has been pushed to the point of suicide. It makes him reluctant to develop bonds with others around him, repeatedly avoiding interactions with other people and using gamer lingo to rationalize the world in mechanical terms. ! In other words, they’re stuck in a perpetual state of analysis paralysis and self-doubt. It feels like the end of the world and they’re lost on how to move forward as if there’s no way out of this loop. I think we see Idia's analysis paralysis pretty often, coupled with Fe grip, he always gets into a jam trying to figure out how to communicate with more extroverted people. For example: his interaction with Kalim in his School Uniform, and his interaction with Ruggie in his PE Uniform, his running away from Ace in his Lab Uniform, his encounter with Malleus in Ceremonial Robes. ! They get nostalgic and want to re-live the past and experience it again, but with a different outcome. This is like somehow wanting to get stuck in this state of mind because it feels safe and familiar. He often mentions the original Ortho when talking about our current Ortho, talking about how he's spirited and energetic like his original brother. Aside from that, Idia's wish during the Stargazing event is also about an old game that he likes which gets into cancellation during development. ! It is the ultimate form of self-doubt and helplessness, like analyzing their own life as if they’re just a spectator but they can’t figure it out. In conclusion, while I do think Idia uses his Ne, it's all to escape situations where he feels uncomfortable with the social interaction or finding something a bother. This routes back to his insistence on a safe and familiar environment. Source: https://introvertedgrowth.com/ti-si-loop/
