Long explanation ahead since I just rewatched this movie: No one can really argue her type too hard cause she literally NEVER speaks 💀, but going off behavior she def gives off IXTP. I see people say she’s ISTP cause of her pattern recognition ability but that’s not a good argument because Ni users are not the only ones capable of pattern recognition and Ne users can be just as good if not better (especially since they use Si to support their Ne). Also INTPs have Ni critic anyway so that’s still something they know how to use. However, ISTP is still very possible but I would say her death was actually more of a potential indicator of this. If she was an INTP, I think she wouldn’t have ate those berries she would have been more paranoid/reluctant about those berries. An ISTP would see those berries and eat it without as much thought (Se aux). An INTP would have inspected those berries and been more suspicious of them and thought about the possibilities of them being poisonous and purposely planted in their path by the capitol (Ne aux). Now of course the INTP could have gone through that thought process and still ate them, but they’re still much less likely to have eaten them then the ISTP. Too bad we didn’t see her finding and eating the berries cause that could have added a lot of clarity to how she uses her functions. Now as for her being INTP that is still very possible too. She was literally in a life or death situation and interacting with her environment (using Se) was her only chance of survival, so use of Se is not enough to say she’s a high Se user. As much as y’all like to act like it’s an impossible myth, yes even INTPs can and will quickly learn to interact and adapt to their environment (in order to survive). Like her life depended on doing using Se so of course she would hello!! Now what is more interesting is that her strategy (pls don’t say she’s INTJ cause she had a strategy) was literally avoiding any interactions that wouldn’t help her survive. When she directly came in contact with people in the game, she was like a dear in headlights and seemed like she didn’t really know what she wanted to do/what action to take. Now all this could be due to the Se trickster of INTP, cause while an ISTP could have easily had the same strategy of avoiding others as much as possible and just focusing on survival, they wouldn’t have had the same issues with taking action when having an unplanned interaction (due to having high Se). The hunger games is a high Se environment, anyone in there would have to use this function more than they usually do. So while she did use Se, she didn’t use it as much as her competitors (who mostly were high Se users) and mainly found ways around using it. All of the actions we saw her take were highly thought out and not really spur-of-the-moment (which she struggled with doing which points to weak Se). So all in all it’s pretty obvious she’s Ti dom so we know she’s IXTP, it’s just hard to pinpoint which one she is cause there’s good arguments for both sides. I slightly lean towards INTP but not enough to confidently vote her as one. Despite us nothing knowing anything about her and her not speaking, she still manages to be such an interesting character. Too bad she dies in the first book/movie she had potential.
