As Crystalline Quartz, Amethyst can be discovered in a range of Lilac to Reddish-Purple colors. It is believed to be the Birthstone of February, with calm, serene qualities and commonly included upon beads. It can be light or dark in shades, and was believed to had been used as drinking vessel material by the Ancient Greeks, through the idea that Amethyst prevents intoxication.
