The ENFJ votes, and all arguments for Fe-dom in general are mired by a strain of discrepancies and inconsistencies; not only are the voters blocking people refuting their arguments; presumably under the presumption that refutations against them are baseless and nonsensical (???); but the real elephant in the room is the series of misconceptions revolving around their arguments that are misquoting external sources to affirm misguided ideas, some of the evident examples of such misinterpreted fallacies; 1) “Palpatine relied on ‘emotional adjustment’” The argument for Fe comes from the fact that Palpatine was using a disguise to manipulate people; to his allies he was their sinister benefactor, to his enemies he was the benevolent politician. The problem with this claim when it being stripped to it’s bones, it is always boiling down to the stereotypical notion that manipulation is exclusive to Extraverted Feeling, and it contradicts Palpatine. This stereotyping may not be intended, but it is nonetheless misguided. The truth couldn’t be further from reach, and we should remember that any type is capable of manipulating others to do what they want. That being said, the misconstruction of this claim is centered around the premise that Palpatine was readjusting his tone to different people; based on the situational circumstances; while this is accurate to the definition of Extraverted Feeler, it isn’t applicable to Palpatine; and the reason is that his purpose was not predicated on adjusting himself to the emotional atmosphere of his environment, the real purpose of wearing a disguise was to conceal himself from his enemies: The Jedi. In truth, when the Senate was manipulated, it was not based on emotion, but through a system of checks and balances responding to an unmitigated crisis; this is not uncommon in any large bureaucracy. A case for Extraverted Feeling can only be validated if he maintained his facade even after ascending to Emperor, since (according to Jung) the Extraverted Feeler is at the foremost a performer; and the unhealthy Extraverted Feeler is the one that takes their performance to the extreme, insofar that they get lost in it. Some fitting examples of this are: - Hans from Frozen - Commodus from Gladiator This description again, is a contradiction of the Palpatine that was depicted in the movies. Palpatine was not a performer, he was a utilitarian. Once his enemies were gone, so was the facade, and all lose ends were tied up. This misconception blends right into the next fallacy; 2) “Palpatine is a demagogue” The strawman with this statement in mind disregards the literal definition of demagoguery; "a political leader who seeks support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument." In effect, demagoguery relies on publicly creating imflammatory rhetoric to exploit public sentiment and prejudice, usually against a targeted group of people. This definition is a categorical contradiction of Palpatine’s actions as described in such arguments; inasmuch as this scenario is only plausible if one could argue that Palpatine was publicly inflaming sentiment against the Jedi as part of his plan to destroy them; but that would only take the real narrative out of context considering that the Jedi were only vilified after they were systematically eliminated by Palpatine. This by definition, is not the result of a demagogue’s strategy but in truth, the result of a methodical strike by a calculated Machiavellian scheme acting in secrecy. Not only does this argument mischaracterize Palpatine, it misquotes the real definition of the demagogue. To rationalize this claim, demagoguery is never really an option for a figure wherein stealth and secrecy is central to the success of their schemes and plots. 3) “Ni-doms would never exert themselves” This notion stems from Jung’s descriptions that Introverted Irrationals prefer to stay in their heads more than engage in the external environment; yet it is being conflated with the idea that that Introverted Irrationals would never engage in the external environment. Jung’s description is being misquoted. While the Introverted Irrational may prefer to keep to themselves and live inside their heads, that does not deter them from exerting themselves externally when required, since that was never explicitly stated by Jung. This is a fallacy that directly betrays the presence of the auxiliary extroverted judging function in the Introverted Irrational, supporting and assisting the dominant function in actualizing the inner world they develop. To discredit the idea of dominant Introverted Intuition in Palpatine based on this premise is yet another discrepancy that has not been addressed. This is a stereotypical notion coming from users who consensually agreed that Hitler was an INFJ, who exerted his own will in the external environment.
