As an INFJ, Simon is a classic example of the Advocate: he believes in medicine as part of making the world a better place. He abandons self interest when confronted with the need of his sister for rescue and recovery. Simon is the doctor aboard Serenity. He's an extremely gifted surgeon and a cunning planner, even though he's socially awkward and not exactly street smart. He cares for his sister River more than anyone or anything else in the world, and he is willing to go to extreme lengths for her well-being.
