honestly it's such a difficult and moving territory because it depends on how big of an age difference we're talking about and what the relationship is between person A and person B for example, I am currently writing a story where a 20-year-old guy will be in a romantic relationship with a 16-year-old boy Anthony (16 years old) fell in love with 20 year old Sun who is partly his tutor and partly his "nanny" (I don't know how else to name it) after all, they are supposed to be in a technical relationship later where Anthony stubbornly treats it as an actual relationship while Sun is a bit more distant, treating it more like a "boy who has a crush on someone who impresses him" even though he himself will have some slight feeling but everything would be more in a romantic neutral area Because Sun is aware of the age difference and that whether Anthony likes it or not he is still technically a kid ┐(´ー`)┌ (and yes I know that it may be a controversial topic but remember that the fact that someone writes about something does not always mean that they support it) in the given example their age difference is 4 years and their relationship is purely romantic and neutral (no sus stuff) the only reason why this relationship is not right is the fact that one is 16 and the other is 20, but if Anthony was 20, while Sun would be 24, it wouldn't seem to be anything bad so as I say it is quite a slippery subject and it is difficult to say whether it is bad or good because the context and structure of the relationship depend on it just to be clear, I'm not saying I support such things because unfortunately, age differences (especially those involving minors) are often very bad and end badly or even worse and certainly when you see such a relationship you should be careful and make sure that nothing bad is happening regardless of the age of the younger person (unless you know... both of them are between 40-50-60 years old up in that case the age gap probably doesn't matter at all)

Biographie

The age difference usually causes some raised eyebrows or disapproving comments from other characters in the story, like these: "He's old enough to be your father!" — "You could be his mother or much... much older sister." The age gap is often presented in the work as an obstacle that the couple must overcome as they might be judged by others. Some characters can assume that the younger one is only in it for the money or nice gifts, or that the older one only wants to score a hot piece of ass and is not interested in anything else. And it often can be precisely the case. The age gap is often not significant because of the specific number of years, but because of the relative size of the disparity in age. As a general rule, when an older character is dating a character less than two-thirds of their age, it becomes notable; for example, 9 and 14 is notable, 19 and 24 not so much; 18 and 30 is notable, 38 and 50 again not so much. Naturally, this means that as the characters grow older, their age gap becomes less and less significant. Generally, the man is the older one and the woman is the younger one, though it can be reversed as well.
