Hardin type de personnalité MBTI
Personnalité
"Quel type de personnalité est Hardin? Hardin est un type de personnalité INTJ dans MBTI, 1w9 - - dans Enneagram, dans Big 5, dans Socionics."
First of all: the first Fire Emblem games relied on archetypes to convey a story so the player could follow the plot even with all those characters involved. Those archetypes make you recognize the Camus and the Jagen of the game for example, but they don't reflect their MBTI. The closest thing we have to those archetypes IMO is their enneagram. We first know Hardin as the good paladin of freedom and rights, which may hint at the classic stereotype of the ISFJ. But it may also be a reflection of his enneagram, in this case type 9. Still looking at the archetype, we then know Hardin as the Dark Emperor. While possessed by the Darksphere, he's obsessed with the idea of ruling "his continent" with brute force so it would stay strong. As he says in "Fire Emblem Heroes": "Marth being the prince of light that will unify everything is a lie because the country will stay poor and won't be able to feed its people". (something like this). One may think that this great sense of duty may be related to the classic ISTJ stereotype, but it also may be a reflection of his enneagram wing, so 9w1. The Darksphere is a corrupting artifact but the resulting behaviour shouldn't be that far from how a toxic or looping MBTI may behave. What I actually think about him is that he's an INTJ 9w1. INTJs are often idealistic and are also able to use their Fi (3rd function) to the benefit of others because it would follow their ideal which can go against the status quo (look at what he did to save Aurelis' people which led to the formation of the Wolfguard). 9w1 is actually a relatively common enneagram for INTJs because of this. Let's also consider the events that drove Hardin to madness: he lived a glorious life, but he became the ruler of Aurelis because his brother was ill and died without any inheritor. Hardin had to take his place, and to consolidate his position, Hardin's love Nyna was "forced" to marry him, even though he thought it was true love. Once this lie surfaces, Hardin fell in deep depression for a brief moment. It was at this moment that Gharnef exploited his only moment of mental weakness to corrupt him through the Darksphere. He thought he lived in a lie, that his beloved people would start disliking him because even his spouse didn't love him. He thought people would forget his past deeds. This really sounds like an INTJ in a Ni-Fi loop to me: the lack of Te (symbolized by that brief moment of weakness) makes Hardin think irrationally. He also sees lies everywhere, which is a common trait among looping INTJs: "Marth is a lie" may be self-defense against lies, lies that traumatized him. Think about how an INTJ would behave as a villain (there are a lot of INTJ villains in fictions): misunderstood people that decided to lead the world with the iron fist, committing (war) crimes to force reactions on people and make them behave as the INTJ wants. This is how Dark Emperor Hardin behaves: look at the plan he pulled off in New Mystery of the Emblem. Insert bad and violent ruler in a country, cause a revolution, blame it on the allied country so he could invade and conquer.
