Hisao Nakai (1934-2022) has worked to elucidate schizophrenia, which had been considered difficult to treat, to care for PTSD in victims of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and to train psychiatric nurses, and who has been thoroughly attuned to the suffering of people.
