The Qu's most defining trait is their zealous, vehement imposition of their vision onto every living thing they encounter (SX1). Their entire civilizational project is not passive idealism but aggressive reformation: they do not merely believe the universe should conform to a higher standard, they feel entitled and obligated to make it so, personally, with fire. This is the Sexual 1's "why not?" energy scaled to a cosmic level. The conquistador mentality Naranjo describes, where the strength of the desire itself becomes moral justification. They are not reforming from a distance like a Social 1 might through institutional pressure; they are hands-on, invasive, and vehement, descending on worlds and physically remaking every organism they find. The anger here is not suppressed or redirected inward. It is the most freely expressed of the One subtypes, erupting outward as a crusade. Their punishment of the Colonials, who resisted them, is especially revealing: it is not enough to simply defeat or contain them, they must be corrected, made to suffer in a form that communicates the Qu's moral verdict on their defiance. That is pure Sexual 1 logic; the reformer who cannot tolerate imperfection or insubordination going unpunished. The idealization of perfection and the compulsion to improve are everywhere in the Qu's behavior, but filtered through that distinctly Sexual 1 outward orientation. They are not perfecting themselves. They show no sign of the self-critical inward spiral more typical of Self-Preservation Ones. Instead, every ounce of their perfectionism is projected onto their subjects. They decide what humanity should be, then remake it accordingly, which mirrors the Sexual 1's characteristic belief that they possess a higher understanding of the truth that gives them the right to reform others. The "zeal" is unmistakable: their genetic and nanotechnological work reads not as cold engineering but as passionate, almost erotic intervention. They are in heat over the project of remaking life. The dualistic, Janus-faced quality described in the Sexual 1 is also visible: the Qu frame their destruction as benevolence, as divine mission, genuinely unable or unwilling to reconcile the violence of their methods with the righteousness of their self-image. They are, in Chestnut's framing, avengers who believe they are saviors.
