I've just finished listening to 1-22, and while more may be revealed about him in the last three tracks, idk if it'll be enough to change my opinion so I'm writing something now lol. I genuinely dunno if I can think of a single solid example for Ne for him, and I honestly think his Fi is too strong to be anything but his dominant function. He may hide it well bc of his ennea 9 (see below) but his outbursts and feelings of inferiority scream Fi to me at least. And because I can't see Ne, I'm pretty sure Mahiro is stuck in a Fi-Si loop, turning to what he believes are his past mistakes (his father doesn't love him, his flower won't bloom etc) and tunnel vision-ing into the big decision he makes in 1-22. Furthermore, I think he's an ennea 9 (9w8 to be specific) instead of a 6. The way he deals with conflicts especially wrt Ryoga is very detached and 9-like ("Nines like to remain easy-going and unflappable. [They] work steadily at their tasks, but show little sign of being upset by the day's ups and downs"). This is enforced by the other characters noticing that Mahiro always has a smile on his face no matter what happens. In 1-22 he even describes himself as subservient and tbh idk how much more 9 it can get than that
