I agree with the consensus on Rip being an ISTP. ✅ Note, He's always on point in his interactions, not remotely emotional in intention. His emotions are drawn out of him by others introducing tension. Highly logical, in some ways to a flaw, Rip is bad at dealing with other people's emotional states that he responds in a very personally detached manner, but, not heartlessly so (inferior Fe). ISTP makes sense. Why? Because, he doesn't value perception, and, ISTJs are perception leads. ✅ Note, He values reception over perception (thinking primarily and feeling secondarily over sensation and intuition). This is what makes him easy for John to manipulate - he's on point indebted to John that, even though he's not technically family, he objectively feels (Fe) like he is a part of the family, and, so, it's doubtful he has conscious Fi. Compare Rip to Jimmy (INFP) or Kayce (ISFP) to see the contrasting difference - Rip is painfully way more composed than either of those two. ✅ Note, He also relates to Jamie (ENFJ) as treating him like an equal (in Season 2), which is because both of them share the same reception axis of Ti-Fe: both personally logical with communal evaluation. Rip Wheeler is most probable an ISTP.
