Tark is tricky He’s thoroughly depressed from the death of his friends when we meet him. So we need to take that into account He seems to see his life as a narrative. Now, every person alive does it, but the Enneagram 4 tends to explicitly view their life that way. They are the protagonist, and their story is a series of events in a tragic, or poetic, or heroic, story, that culminates with whatever they desire, with others playing roles and being “cast members” of their life. He repeatedly frames Jason in the role he plays in the story, as his Saviour, and this is how it seems he processes info, and how he gets a grip on reality. He narrativizes. 4s are obssessed with melancholy, trauma, and tragedy. Maybe not overtly in regular people, but their internal world is something like… “I remember a time when things were good, and I connect with that by dwelling on the bad that came as a consequence of me no longer being in thr good.” Something like that. They love tragedy, and framing themselves as that, and being melancholic, because it’s their way of holding into something precious. It’s like bitterly remembering a breakup because you cared about the relationship beforehand, and the breakup is how the 4 holds onto that memory Tark does this repeatedly.
