Pomponazzi, Pietro Pomponazzi, or Pomponace, also known as Peter of Mantua, in Latin Petrus Pomponatius, (born September 16, 1462 in Mantua and died May 18, 1525 (age 62) in Bologna) was an Italian humanist and philosopher. According to Pierre Bayle, "he was considered one of the most excellent philosophers of his century"[1].
