Biografi
Oceanus was the oldest of the Titans and son of Oranos and Gaia. He ruled over the rivers, so his job was pretty distinct from Poseidon's, who ruled over salt water. Oceanus was also the god who regulated the rising and setting of the heavenly bodies which were believed to emerge and descend into his watery realm at the ends of the earth. He and his wife, Tethys had around 6,000 children (3,000 sons, 3,000 daughters) together. They were a busy couple. Oceanus never involved himself in things like the overthrowing of Ouranos or the Titanomachy. The Iliad claims that he and Tethys provided protection to Hera while the Titanomachy was raging, but didn't take part in the battle themselves. Thus he was one of the few Titans Zeus tolerated after ascending to the throne.
