So many depressed/sad characters are simply typed Melancholic [Dominant], while Mel-dom type is a very consistent type with little need for cheerfulness. One easy way to think about it is how they will behave in natural state. If they enjoy the positivity in others, it's Phlegmatic blend. If they may even be outgoing and enthusiastic at times instead of just enjoying watching it from far, they have Sanguine blend. Melancholic-sanguine: being the most introverted, analytical temperament backed up by the most extroverted and fun-loving, this blend can make for a very complex character indeed. They can make good performers, because of their hardworking nature and their willingness to show off their skills to others, often in an hands on way. They are also less likely than the sanguine-melancholic to juggle with lots of activities all at once, perfecting one or a few skills at a time, rather than displaying a range of abilities not fully developed.
