Guys he's Se dom!! He's really good at noticing everything in his surroundings without subjective memory. It's just his later interpretation of the MEANING of said observations is dodgy because his Ni is inferior. So he always goes for a singular option (Ni not Ne) but it's usually wrong (inferior). But Poirot basically uses Hastings as a memory bank.
