I'm genuinely so confused by this Ne charged consensus. Maybe you all presume Ne because Will quickly joins the pieces together and assumes a lot of peculiarities about people, and whilst I do think that's a noteworthy trait of his personality, it aligns more so with high logical capability (i.e. making sense out of a piece of content and being agile with controversies is what characterises 2L more so than Ne). Extroverted Intuition as base function doesn't work like this and I will explain below. Abstractly so, Will is the kind to straight-up dismiss possibilities and not only as a cope for fear (indeed you can actually cope with fear by searching for more possibilities like your typical ILE & E7 does) but he explicitly dislikes the sort of Ne brainstorm-looking towards the future as well. Strictly against exploring his own potential, so why's this Ne there for? Will couldn't come up with an answer regarding what he wanted to do. Ne is pretty much the opposite; can come up with various answers, whilst can't stick themselves into only one. Will simply doesn't explore any. Truth be told, Will's personality is all about his simple pleasures, comfort (drink & smoking), action (physical fights for the smallest things), and uncomfortably stuck into the here-and-now, as he both loves the reassuring sensation of being around those he trusts, but he also fears any product of his intuitions. He deeply fears where any sort of commitment may lead him, whereas Ne is convinced of the wholeness of the external situation—as if anything is actually predictable to them or else they'll be able to bypass such conditions [1]. Besides, why not Se ego...? like, honestly, you see this guy wanting to look stronger, more mature, and influential than he actually is. He craves looking superior to ward off anyone who «may assume» that he's inferior, weak, or somehow needs help—hence his tendency to lie and see psychologists as a source of competition. Highly concerned with his own appearance, money, and composure, why... why would he be anything but Se Creative (or just Ego Block for that matter)? Ti base of all things makes sense, let's be honest. Will is very convinced that his understanding of the world is superior to everyone else's, hence he has this unshakable confidence in his ability to outsmart everyone. Not only that, but Will always manages to convince himself with reasonable explanations that seeking new opportunities is something inherently negative, as it will always end with some catastrophic outcome anyhow. The Ti game itself is fun for him. He finds math and chemistry amusing because things simply make sense there without much effort, although whenever people wanted to insert an implicit purpose to the studies he immediately refrained from the responsibility and took it as a joke (weak & painful Ni rather than valued Ne).
