I get why people hate Ulysses and call him pretentious, but I actually think there are decent aspects to his character. One memorable part of Lonesome Road was an audio log by him where he talks about how a tribe he was training for the Legion started to braid their hair like his in order to honor him, unaware that Ulysses braids his hair as part of his original tribes custom, and the voice actor did a very good job of portraying him as haunted by seeing this unintentional mockery of his dead family, and outraged at the meaninglessness of the braids, removed from their original significance. That said, Ulysses is confusing as an antagonist. You have to accept his framing of your courier's past in order for his character to even work - the idea that he's actually mistaken or just crazy just makes him completely absurd as the final boss of the DLCs. However, if the point of Ulysses is to make the player question the path they've followed and the events they intend to set into motion after the battle of Hoover Dam, then it comes off as kind of weak. It doesn't help that he barely seems to acknowledge a Yes Man playthrough and makes the most sense if you're strictly Legion or NCR. I also think part of the hatred for him in the fandom is due to the previous DLCs having such amazing characters. Dead Money, Honest Hearts and Old World Blues hit it out of the park with their respective themes and Lonesome Road feels like a bit of a letdown after all that. As for his typing, I think he's far too focused on abstraction and meaning to be anything other than INFJ. He's almost a stereotype of a brooding INFJ who lost it and is lashing out at the world in search of meaning and clarity. His plan is extremely Ni-Ti and only makes sense if you make the effort to understand his history and worldview.
Biografi
Ulysses is a courier and former frumentarius of Caesar's Legion. In 2281, he was one of seven couriers hired by Victor to carry strange packages to the New Vegas Strip, but his delivery was left to the Courier after Ulysses' mysterious disappearance. He serves as the main antagonist of Lonesome Road, as well as the unseen secondary antagonist in Dead Money, Honest Hearts, and Old World Blues.
