The most Ni-Se I’ve seen in him was when he said the only reason he kept up the optimism with Naoko was that he thought in his own world that everything is gonna be fine, but that was shattered with the letter(Something sensory and real). When he gets depressed, he does the most random se things. Traveling to places he’s never been and getting absolutely out of touch. Not listening to people at all and not eating. When he is healthy, he always keeps his place tidy, attends all lectures, and always thinks about others’ feelings. That’s the most obvious INFJ Murakami could ever write. If you have read other Murakami books, you’d know he's an INFJ. Murakami has worked with the INTP main character for years. Given that he is a logical INFP, he simply does not have a good idea of how to write an INFJ clearly. His main characters always have a bit of logical ixnp in them. But we can see he has tried so much to show he is INFJ by comparing this main character with others. Toru obviously cares about how others feel. He is not apathetic at all compared to other Murakami’s main characters. His Fe guilt keeps striking him at moments he doesn’t want it to. He keeps doing whatever others want.
