Kepribadian
"Jenis kepribadian apa itu Qin Keqing? Qin Keqing adalah tipe kepribadian ENFJ di mbti, 3w2 - sx/so - 369 di enneagram, dalam Big 5, EIE dalam socionics."
Fe dominant for sure. Cordial, affable, and well loved by everyone, much like Xue Baochai. However, she also seems to have a tinge of genuineness and authenticity as well, she definitely isn't the manipulative/two-faced Fe type. Makes sense, since Keqing is probably supposed to be somewhat of an amalgamation of Xue Baochai and Lin Daiyu, the former a Fe user and the latter a Fi user. From her conversations with Xifeng, she seems to have no values solely of her own but instead is geared towards external relationships and harmony. “But now that I’ve fallen ill all my will power is gone, and I haven’t been able to be a good daughter in law” - a bedridden Keqing is still acutely aware of her place in the broader social web and still wants to adhere to her role and contribute despite her illness, further corroborating Fe. Since she gets little screen time in this book, it's harder to determine what her auxiliary function really is, but if we can trust Xifeng's dream about her, Keqing seems to exude more Ni than Si - she advises Xifeng to think more about the future than the status quo and be prudent about potential ramifications, she seems to use this Ni as a tool to show that she cares about her family (Fe). Although I will say that occasional pessimistic/unhealthy Ni also shows up in her via her remarks about her fate - believing that it’s the only way out of her shame. Standout Big 5 trait is her extremely high agreeableness. "The old people recalled Keqing's filial behavior, the young people her affectionate ways and the old people her kindness, while not one of the servants but wept for grief recollecting her compassion for the poor and humble and her loving goodness to old and young alike." If this isn't 100% agreeableness, I don't know what is. Described as the perfect wife to Jia Rong, and a delicate/rare find. Neuroticism definitely seems to be pretty high as well. Yeah she got SAed by her FIL Jia Zhen, and I think just about anyone in her situation would definitely immensely stressed as well, but even given that, she's extremely prone to mental stress, especially in terms of small things such as her brother getting in trouble at school easily exacerbating her illness. Openness seems to be at least moderately high. Her room is densely decorated with paraphernalia relating to the literary and artistic works of various past Chinese artists and authors, to the point of it completely mentally intoxicating Baoyu upon him stepping into her room for the first time. This shows a very high level of aesthetic appreciation for Keqing (and also for Baoyu), which is one of the major facets of Openness.
Biografi
Daughter-in-law to Jia Zhen. Of all the characters in the novel, the circumstances of her life and early death are amongst the most mysterious. Apparently a very beautiful and flirtatious woman, she carried on an affair with her father-in-law and dies before the second quarter of the novel. Her bedroom is bedecked with priceless artifacts belonging to extremely sensual women, both historical and mythological. In her bed, Bao Yu first travels to the Land of Illusion where he has a sexual encounter with Two-In-One, who represents Xue Baochai and Lin Daiyu. Two-in-One's name is also Keqing, making Qin Keqing also a significant character in Bao Yu's sexual experience. The original twelve songs hint that Qin Keqing hanged herself.
