Decided that she was an ENTP almost immediately. In her first scene, she is scouring her backpack for a headband, which she eventually realizes is on her wrist. Instantly, the audience realizes Esther is scatterbrained and probably has inferior Si. Then, in a clear demonstration of her strong Ne, Esther tells her psychiatrist, "Of course I can remember where I was. I can keep several complex thoughts in my head at one time. ... And everything has to be. ... And then there's the whole." When her psychiatrist asks her to finish her thought because "she is supposed to be working on finishing her thoughts," Esther replies, "I am finishing my thoughts." The psychiatrist points out that she is finishing them in her head, but not out loud. This is pretty indicate of high Ne users who jump from thought to thought rapidly without necessarily bringing them to a terminus. Moments later, Esther laments, "It's not my fault that everyone in the world is slower than I am. They always were." This, of course, is a common complaint of high Ne users, who jump to conclusions more rapidly than sensing types and often perceive others as "slow". The scene also establishes that NASA keeps asking Esther to move to Florida, and that she is having sudden inspired thoughts about "molecular kinetic sequencing" that she feels compelled to scribble with ink in her notebook. She says that she is "trying to figure out how to use DNA mutations to change the very trajectory of disease and rearrange it so we can control the very basic process in which we... Wait! Okay, I did it..." Anyway, I suppose INTP cannot be ruled out entirely, but her runaway brain seems like that of an obvious Ne dominant to me, and her compulsive interest in systematic logic seems like very obvious Ti. I turned to my wife immediately after the scene to say, "Well, that was the most ENTP ENTP to ever ENTP." Don't see myself changing my mind on this one, but you're welcome to try to change it.
