Resumé of Sauron: Aggressive, intellectual, charming, charismatic, clean, focused, cold, strategist, cuning. He appears to have quite a lot of anger, that's one of the reasons to point him towards type 1 and not 3 or 7. The way that the ring works and his plans, to subjugate all others to his desire is very type 1 Gandalf the Grey is the true researcher here, among with Saruman(both 5s). Sauron was always more practical and did not waste time in "useless" research and combats either. About his anger, If you read the Silmarillion + watch The Hobbit movie you are going to eee what I am talking about(when he appears to Gandalf). There is also the Nazgul parts in the "1st book", you can tell that these creatures are quite mad looking for the ring(I guess they have some type of connection with Sauron's mood or whatever) Why Lawful Evil? Sauron seeks to eliminate all types of opposition, he doesn't leave space for an opposition, not even someone as good as Gandalf ---------- Overall, I like the Sauron character quite a lot We must remember that Middle Earth is now under the control of the 2 Blue Wizards and not Aragorn(these wizards worked for Sauron under the curtains for quite a long time). So basically Sauron won in the end(in the long run).

Sauron (Quenya; IPA [ˈsaʊron] or [ˈθaʊron]), the eponymous Lord of the Rings, was the greatest subversive Maia, the maker of the One Ring, renowned student of the Vala Aulë, and the most trusted lieutenant of Morgoth.
