Ne: Admittedly it was kind of hard to see any one function as being dominant for Jenny (especially during the first few issues because her personality wasn’t as fleshed out). However, as Jenny has developed, it's become more and more obvious that she leads with Ne. Now, I’d first like to clarify that Ne and Se can look very similar because they are both extroverted perceiving functions. But Se is described by Jung as being “the most realistic function” in the sense that it takes information as is without any twists and turns. In Jenny’s case, I see all of her outlandish ideas (such as the alien plan from one of the earlier issues) as being evidence of Ne instead, being much more idealistic and abstract than Se. She frequently makes different connections too (such as instantly connecting the murders and the other evidence to Albin during the murder arc) and will come up with many different ideas or plans for situations (like with her many plans to win Hugo back, however when she ran out of ideas she fell into a Si grip). I moreover see her inability to truly file away information (the gag where she needs to look up the answer to any question she’s asked) as being an indicator of inferior Si (which I will touch more on). Fi-Te: it was somewhat unclear to me for much of the comic whether Jenny preferred Fe or Fi, and for a while, I was under the impression that she preferred Fe. However, looking back, I believe what I initially saw as Fe was actually Te, coupled with an underdeveloped Fi. Jenny’s arc throughout the comics was learning to be in line with her inner desires and not push them away in favor of societal norms, which indicates a preference for Fi, even if underdeveloped. Furthermore, Jenny’s values are much too subjective to be equated with Fe; even though she highly values her appearance and how others perceive her in that field (which was what I initially thought was Fe), her other values are subjective and seem to come from within her without the guidance of others (for example, believing that stealing is fine if she wants the items, which seems to have been cultivated within her from her impoverished childhood). Furthermore, her knowledge of societal norms and their hierarchies indicates a relatively decent usage of Te within her, though quite underdeveloped as evidenced by her antics. Adding on to this, a couple of panels in the seventh issue show her inner thoughts essentially “fighting” each other (relatable lmao) which I can see as evidence of Te trying to reason to make sense of situations. This can be further seen during Hugo’s confession to her in the middle of the school, where Jenny was initially going to go with her Fi (accept his feelings for her and her feelings for him), however her Te blocked this decision fearing a downfall from the social hierarchy, thus leading her to deny her feelings for him. And though this isn’t a great argument for non-Fe, she’s not that great at reading the room and often makes somewhat rude comments unintentionally (the point being that Fe typically has more awareness of the atmosphere and may recognize what could be considered “rude” when speaking to others; I say this as a Fe-user myself lol). I can furthermore see Vicky’s influence on Jenny— especially during the first few issues— as dominant Te manipulating weaker Te. Si: Jenny tended to not show much Si throughout the comics, however in certain tidbits you can see it as her inferior function. After Hugo rejected her (8th volume), she fell into what I see as a Si grip: she severely neglected her health and was in a loop of not learning from her past actions, leading to her destructive habits for that time. I think this post does an excellent job of explaining Si grips better: https://mbti-notes.tumblr.com/post/136898571387/how-functions-work-inferior-si-ENTPENFP I’ve seen some sources say that Si inferior is also about completely deviating from societal norms, and while I do agree this is sometimes the case it’s typically a combination of the aux and the inferior function that fuels this trait (for example, Fi-Si deviating from the norm because it doesn’t feel right to them or Ti-Si deviating because the norm doesn’t make sense, for example. But In Jenny's case, I think her functions are overall too underdeveloped (coupling with her lack of maturity and *ahem ahem* intelligence) for her to deviate too far from societal norms, however she HAS done this multiple times over the course of the books (I'd have to find specific places but I think I mentioned a few before). Lastly, I’m think Jenny is an e2; I'm too lazy to construct a massive argument for this but it’s shown throughout the comic multiple times that she truly wants to be loved (which is partly why she chooses Hugo over the “handsomer” options (which is b.s. bc Hugo is adorable), since he truly loved her). She’s most likely an sx2 ‘cause her main thing was trying to woo everyone and make them love her through her looks.
