He says that the phrase "𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲" means that SP9 gives no importance to Logic matters, but it clearly has nothing to do with Logic and he doesn't explain why; besides that, this specific part of the quote uses a poetic language (remember that these books have a self-help purpose) so its informative value is questionable. There are really no arguments here. From this I guess that he thinks that the mental simplification of SP9 is a matter of Logic, when it's actually a matter of the whole 4 functions (think about it, E9 simplifies EVERYTHING that passes to his mind, not only Logic), and since the whole function order can be reduced to only Volition, mental simplification is a Volition matter, 4V specifically. Next he quotes SoL, mentioning some traits of the Second Function that SP9 seems to lack. His method is wrong in first place, since he is checking if SP9 fits FLEV description, which is wrong because enneagram descriptions are in general WAY more specific and detailed than any psychotype. One could easily find contradictions in almost every Enneagram-PY correlations: just to mention something we all agree, SX4 is seen as a very intellectual type, but it's still typed as EFVL. This is false, simply because, I remember you, that 2L is in SECOND position, so even if 2L is abstract, 1F completely overshadows and its empiricism; this is how the function order works, 1st is over 2nd in importance and valuation, the 2nd is over 3rd and then... You may say "but 2L is still in High position and that means a more abstract mind", but remember the influence 4V has over the rest of functions. Ichazo called SP9 "Appetite", someone who has a passion to satisfy his own hungers, a constant stimuli that compensates for the registration of one's necessities. Naranjo described this more in depth, conservational sloth results in carelessness about one's own survival needs, this then manifests as lack of awareness of what's actually needed, so the need for survival is replaced with a constant with a constant longing for comfort, food, distractions, sleep and other sensory stimuli.
