from the enneagram institute: 2: Want to be loved, to express their feelings for others, to be needed and appreciated, to get others to respond to them, to vindicate their claims about themselves. 9: Want to create harmony in their environment, to avoid conflicts and tension, to preserve things as they are, to resist whatever would upset or disturb them. i would argue that her “main motivation” was bringing lain out of her shell in order to help feel loved, not necessarily keeping harmony in her environment. i can understand the type 9 claims somewhat, but i noted her self-sacrifices for lain more than i noted her trying to keep harmony in an environment. alice’s main motivation was to help lain feel comfortable with herself, which is why she was taking her to all of those places. i believe if she was going to “resist whatever would upset or disturb her”, she would have never gone to lain’s house in episode 12, or at least stayed there after witnessing how freaky it was there. also, in the scene where lain left her memories but erased everyone’s else’s about alice’s rumor, she asked lain “why do you hate me so much?” as if lain’s feelings towards her affected her more than a disturbance in harmony. (paraphrased, i don’t remember the exact wording.) she also asked this in either episode 12 or 13, when she was with lain in her house, refusing to believe lain’s love for her because of all the stuff that had happened to her thus far, indirectly caused by lain. i really didn’t need to write this whole essay LMAO, but i strongly believe she is a type 2, and that is my argument.
Biografia
Alice Mizuki (瑞城 ありす, Mizuki Arisu) is a 14-year-old girl who attends the same school as Lain Iwakura. She is Lain's classmate and her only true friend throughout the whole series. Alice is a devoted confidante, and has a simple, sincere personality. Alice is introduced as the shyest part of a junior high school trio composed of her, Juri and Reika, but her character development shows a fearless dedication to her friends.
