The Nathaniel that is depicted on each character's visions is more of an ENTP; he has some major sense of clairvoyance (and arrogance) because he represents the almost repressed intuitive side of the rest of the Fishers (Claire to a lesser degree). However, that's not Nathaniel himself, is just all of them talking to themselves. The real Nathaniel, as seen on flashbacks and by words from the rest of the characters, show more of an ESTP kind of guy.

Nathaniel Samuel Fisher, Sr. (June 9, 1943 – December 24, 2000), played by Richard Jenkins, is the patriarch of the Fisher family and owner of Fisher & Sons Funeral Home until his death in a traffic accident on Christmas Eve, 2000.
