His songs seem too intellectual and cerebral to be a 4. I see more of a healthy type 7 integrating to 5 with a 6 wing giving him him focus on people and society. Maybe im wrong, but type 4s are more likely to write about their identity and life stories as well as their introspections; their personal relationship with the state of the world or their general experiences as they're discovering themselves. They're less intellectual and are more internally focused and emotional. 4w3s are even more emotional than 4w5s. They typically are not as intellectual or concerned with deep thinking as 4w5s. However, type 4s can be intellectual, it just comes to support their emotional focus rather than be their primary focus like the head triad types. They're more like a quintessential charming and charismatic artist who combines artistic integrity and expressiveness with being pleasant and not too serious. 4w5s tend to be darker, more introspective, more independent, serious, avant-garde, objective, conceptual, philosophical and intellectual. Declan's songs are very serious, deep, intellectual, and philosophical. Even his more emotional lyrics are rational and deep. They aren't arbitrarly expressive and intutive like a 4 would be. 4s are deep, but not in an intellectual or heady way. It's more poetic and ambiguous rather than cuttingly clear. I think of McKenna's philosophy as him integrating to 5 and being a more successful version of the quintessential type 5 recluse and eccentric philosopher or intellectual. He's like a type 4w3 in regards to being a charismatic indie pop star, but he has less traits and propensities that would make him entirely a type 4. Type 7s are typically charismatic too and are interpersonally talented. They can also be artistic. They just tend to have a more fun-loving approach to art. Think of how many comedians are type 7s. Declan just seems more deep, serious, and artistic than the average 7 -- at least with his music. These qualities probably gets him confused with a type 4. He seems too outgoing and physically expressive to be a 4w5, as well as a type 5, which tend to be darker and stoic artists and thinkers; they're more reserved. Just my thoughts.

Declan Benedict McKenna (born December 24, 1998) is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He initially gained recognition for winning the Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition in 2015. McKenna self-released the song "Brazil", a protest song criticising FIFA and the 2014 FIFA World Cup held in Brazil, as his debut single in December 2014.
