Both used to work for another, foreign side closely associated with their biological families Rayla-- Xadia/Moonshadow elves, Ziva--Mossad, Israelis). Both "defect" to the other side (humans and Americans, respectively). Both hard -core crush on/do more with a romantic interest on latter mentioned side Both are amazing athletes, skilled and resourceful with weapons, and well-guarded with strangers (but can open up more over time).
