SPOILERS -Do not read if you haven’t seen the show. So ENTP aside Ikta is a textbook example of a 8w7 Challenger with a tertiary 5. Observation and investigations are his sword not his heart. Challengers are known for aggression or defiance especially in defense of our freedom and a fear of being controlled, harmed, or otherwise at the mercy of others. A 7th wing means this is likely to display in an adventurous thirst for life. He is highly aggressive in defense of his right to live his life as he pleases but is a laidback hedonist and highly logical so long as this isn’t under direct threat. Several key examples of this are shown in the first episode alone and the tension between wanting to live freely and being forced to serve a tyrantical empire is one of the main plot points. An overt example telling the 3rd Princess directly, “You’ve ruined my plans for my life.” While manhandling her no less, going so far as to threaten to break her neck in a world with an old school noble caste system? Where a single rude comment or gesture is enough to cost someone their life? This is not a level of aggression that can just be swept under the rug and is the same illogical type of action Ikta himself hates. Yet he never once expresses a fear of powerless, in fact he’s renown for brazenly challenging authority to the extent that Yatori must slam him to the ground and he is notably more comfortable unarmed in a hammock then when commanding a battlefield. He actively avoids positions of power because they limit his personal freedoms. If he feared powerlessness the first Island should’ve rattled him- like it did Mathew instead the man took a mini vacation. Ikta’s doesn’t actively work to gain skills out of fear either, they aid him but he learns from the joy of it. Once on home soil he again challenges General Harzaram (another suicidal act in and of itself) proclaiming he shouldn’t throw his life away for illogical “unscientific” Jingoism and again this is only in the first episode. Ikta is even introduced to us as the lazy genius who intends to live a laid back life as a promiscuous librarian who does as he pleases. Control of his life is Ikta’s core wound and is his desire for fun,usually through his promiscuity, is the lighter expression of his 7th wing. He’s happy to challenge authority and is repeatedly punished for doing so many times with a happy go lucky addittude intact such as when he’s jailed. And Ikta is observant that can’t be doubted but the science and joy of it came after he gained freedom for the first time in the republic. Perhaps the most damming evidence is that Ikta is in fact an 8w7 is that he directly tells Denken that what would damage his honor is “bring unable to say what he wanted when he wanted to say it or being unable to protect someone he wanted to protect.”
