After reading up a bit on this type, I gotta say, im loving their descriptions. E9 in this version actually has a personality, and is alot more introverted, reflective, active in pursuing their needs as opposed to Naranjos model where E9s are these mindless people who lack a personality, forget themselves and do things without purpose Unlike Naranjos E9 where E9s do everything they can to forget themselves and avoid coming in contact with their essence, Ichazos E9 seeks to find the truth and meaning to their existence. They also struggle with lack of love, feelings of emptiness, which could explain why alot of E9s characters tend to get mistyped as E4, as Ichazos E9 has a good amount of questioning, false lack in its trait structures I think this would usually be E9 in Naranjos version, albeit more introspective kind. While they are different in many areas, the common theme behind both versions is naivety, laziness, and a huge focus on sensory pleasures, and Naranjos E9 is still based off what Ichazos E9 was supposed to be, he just deepened his work. As enneagram subtypes, this would archetypically be SP9. Point 9 has tendencies to switch from naive and gullible, to straight up being violent, aggressive, suspicious, and rigid with their ideals this area would he known as “The Under Seeker” “Furthermore, there are two different characters or realities within this ego: The Over-Seeker on the one hand and the Under-Seeker on the other. The Under-Seeker describes a sceptical and mistrustful person who is prone to fits of rage. This person tends to also be shrewdly calculating and extremely aggressive. She also has a very pessimistic and indolent attitude towards the world, which is justified by countless complaints which could develop into a rigid, pessimistic ideology.” This attitude fits SP9 much better than SO9 or SX9, who are known for being the more assertive, noncompliant 9s. As SP9 is described “In the process of going back and forth between the polarity of victim and survivor, he forgets himself. He cannot look at himself because he is engaged in a struggle between death and life. He goes from one extreme, in which the personality does not exist, to another where he finds a strength to survive that arises from the viscerality and is full of mistrust, violence and loneliness.” Also, this type has a strong correlation to IS, even more so than the Naranjos E9. Huge emphasis on sensory pleasures, finding the truth, while also having a mystical, divine, otherworldly type of attitude in them (as their domain is Spiritually and they symbolize alot of things) “The Seeker is fixated in the Spiritual Domain which includes places of worship, spiritual organizations, gatherings, and anything transcendental, religious, mystical, magical, or diabolical.” “When the ego-personality of Seekers deteriorates further, they resort to Symbolization, which means imposing artificial symbolism onto a set of realities. Events, persons and places acquire abstract symbolism as a defense for the Seekers' alienation and lack of being. They turn unacceptable desires and inner conflicts, such as the depression caused by loss, into symbols to balance their lack of being and inability to deal with 'reality as such.’ Symbolization is also generally accepted as the basis of dream formation.” IS “This peculiarity, which often leads a superficial judgment astray, is really due to his unrelatedness to objects. Normally the object is not consciously devalued in the least, but its stimulus is removed from it and immediately replaced by a subjective reaction no longer related to the reality of the object. This naturally has the same effect as devaluation. Such a type can easily make one question why one should exist at all, or why objects in general should have any justification for their existence since everything essential still goes on happening without them.” “Above all, his development alienates him from the reality of the object, leaving him at the mercy of his subjective perceptions, which orient his consciousness to an archaic reality, although his lack of comparative judgment keeps him wholly unconscious of this fact. Actually he lives in a mythological world, where men, animals, locomotives, houses, rivers, and mountains appear either as benevolent deities or as malevolent demons. That they appear thus to him never enters his head, though that is just the effect they have on his judgments and actions. He judges and acts as though he had such powers to deal with; but this begins to strike him only when he discovers that his sensations are totally different from reality. “ Examples of Point 9 characters Denji (Chainsaw Man) Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer) Patrick Star (Spongebob) Saitama (One Punch Man) Guts (Berserk) Rue Bennet (Euphoria)
Biografia
THE SEEKER The Seeker, point 9, is fixated in the Spiritual Domain and is the central Fixation where the Instinct becomes most acutely affected. For the Seeker, a perceived trauma to the Conservation Instinct is attached to the projection of being abandoned by their mother, producing the Fixation with the deepest lack of true being. The Seekers Feeling of abandonment due to a perceived lack of maternal care evolves into a profound lack of self-value and Feelings of being diminished, undesirable and worthless. This is the source of the Seeker's underlying skepticism, it is also the motivation for a constant questioning and search for the "Truth as such.”
