analyzing the turtles 3/4 michaelangelo (surprisingly my favorite to analyze so far...) mikey is the most consistent out of the four in this franchise as a whole while simultaneously still being different from each counterpart. he remains relatively the same at base, but the accents to his personality get spiced up. this is my personal favorite mikey because of those small changes. ...his 2012 incarnation is an adrenaline seeker and his stupidity is often flanderized. despite that, he is shown to have exceptional skill if given the chance to fight his 'own way.' this incarnation is somewhat similar to that, but he isn't necessarily stupid; he is actually quite emotionally intelligent and is almost like the psychologist of the team. along with that, he is also quite creative, and takes interest in arts and crafts. mikey is somewhat of a NeFi archetype-- he is very individualistic and envisions a lot of ideas (of which he doesn't always act upon, unlike someone else...). mikey created multiple personas/aliases for himself, such as 'Dr. Feelings' and 'Dr. Delicate Touch', which functions as a signal to his family when they are about to get an emotional lecture, some more harsh than others. he values keeping everyone's spirits high and is emotionally sensitive. he likes to uplift others. exhibit A: "according to *my* calculations, as long as you believe in yourself, you can do anything!" ... i've seen some arguments that mikey is enneagram 9, which i completely disagree with, as he embodies the spirit of the e7. mikey does not harbor the e9's sloth at all-- he is enthusiastic and approaches things with intent to satisfy his curiosity; he wants to learn and experience at any opportunity. an e9 would rather remain in the same state to remain 'ideal' whilst the e7 doesn't want to cut off it's own opportunities to experiment. take the scene where raph investigates something via sniffing it (i think it was a plant?? i literally forgot) and passes out because the smell is bad. mikey, despite having seen raph's reaction, follows the lead and does the same thing out of sheer curiosity. contrary to the example, mikey does get impulsive ideas, but unlike leo, he has the ability to stop and think about the consequences (most of the time anyway.) thus he lets them stay in his imagination. mikey, being the most in-tune with emotions as a concept, has the best control over his powers because they are connected to emotions. this already gives him the opportunity to use them quite often and put them to use in different ways. i mean, the mf threw an entire BUILDING at the krang for goodness sake. he will get dangerous when he needs to.
