To all the people voting Ne dom, I’m really curious to know, what in the world is your interpretation of a Se dom? This is one of the MOST Se-dom characters I have seen in a while, and I am going to give a detailed explanation because of the state of this comment section in which he is being vibe-typed by intuitive bias. Before I go any further, here is a distinction: Characteristics of Ne dom: future oriented thinking concerning possibilities, abstract and vague potential ideas / concepts, considers various perspectives from multiple lenses. When placed in a new setting, might be more attuned to impressions / feelings that emerge rather than taking in the big picture. Characteristics of Se dom: grounded in the present, concrete, physical and tangible experiences / stimulation, sensory, hands-on, aim for completion, attention to detail, notice and respond to the environment. SE>NE This argument is not based on Kang Taepoong being "impulsive". Every single thing he does is based off a reaction to the sensory / physical environment. We never, not even once, see his train of thought. He never brainstorms verbally, never considers multiple possibilities / generates ideas, but jumps straight into whatever he wants to do in the moment without any thought concerning the consequences. The entire framework of Ne is based on this abstract generation of possibilities, creation of new ideas, ability to think in an open and multifaceted way. Taepoong does not exhibit these characteristics of Ne-Ti. If it had actually been his dominant method of thinking, he would most certainly use words and an ability to create convincing arguments rather than implement a physical means of redirecting focus / attention. Instead, you see Taepoong react based on the needs of the moment itself. There is no planning or thought / future based thinking. He will always use a physical means to get his way, whether it be wagering his eyeballs to secure a deal, jumping off a boat and pretending to do drugs with flour to prevent the officers from finding his smuggled goods, trying to break down the door of the jewelry shop in Thailand. He always "resolves" a big deal by making an even bigger deal out of whatever is happening. As he himself said, if you cause a big scene people will notice. Notice also, the idea of intellectual stimulation that is necessary for an ENTP to drive motivation. That does not exist for Taepoong. What's his motivation? "There's so many things to sell in this world, I can't sleep." ; "It's fun. Being a trader." ; Finding new exciting products that make him have to buy them immediately. How does he respond to stress? When his father slaps him, he spends all night watering plants in a greenhouse and dancing. When Hyunjun inhibits his transportation of the goods he breaks Hyunjun's car door. Knocks down a bunch of objects in Mr. Park's warehouse because his goods are gone. What does an ENTP do when stressed? Probably goes into a Ti loop or a depressed Si phase, withdraws and spirals into melancholic thoughts. We see that Taepoong after his father passes away consistently needs to address the issue physically and directly to resolve the stress, because he was left with regrets that remained unresolved ("When was the last time we had a conversation? That's all I thought about, for days."). After feeling incompetent as a CEO, he goes to Mr. Pyo's office, sits on the desk and threatens him with a promissory note when he doesn't even know the contents of the promissory note. The confrontation becomes physical. In the Se distinction at the top of this post I mentioned attentiveness to detail. Think about his first entry into the business world, where he drives to the office with Go Majin and Oh Miseon to confirm the fabric trading deal. This is a subtle thing to notice, but as he walks in, you might see that he intakes the physical space of the room very well. It’s not the atmosphere that he is attuned to, but rather you can see his eyes scan the entire environment. His arms are crossed. He doesn't figure out what they are scheming because of the emotional environment, or how the employees are looking at him weirdly, it’s from the tangible fact that the wastebaskets and paper bins are empty and the electricity is unplugged. Think about his physical expression. When going to see the office for the first time the most important thing to him is how he's dressed. ("Well, I know a little about fashion") He wears bold and expressive colours to a confrontation, matches his willingness to learn by readjusting his appearance from the "party guy" lifestyle to the "polite businessman". Matches people's physical actions (copies Mr. Bae's actions, gets along well with Jung Cha-ran and the lady who sells fish in Pusan by matching their physical expressions, adjusts dialect to Pusan dialect when talking to Bo-ram, Mr. Park's daughter).
