Militarism was valued, and agriculture and economy was encouraged by state planning. His reforms and meritiocratic system greatly antagonized and reduce the power of nobility сlass within qin, who held wealth just because of bloodline rather than merit. Therefore after duke xiao had passed away, he was sacked by his enemies and duke xiao's son, and got killed and tortured by his own harsh laws. the polar opposite of confucius
