Mrs. Gardiner, Mr. Gardiner’s wife, is kindly and sensible. She is closest to Elizabeth and Jane Bennet. After visiting Pemberley and witnessing Mr. Darcy’s behavior towards Elizabeth, she suggests that Darcy is still in love with Elizabeth.
