The real Stephen Stanley seems to have been either a creative ISTJ subtype, or an ENFP possibly normalizing subtype. In his letter to Sir William Fergusson he comes across as a chatty, lively, vibrant ENFP but in his letter to Sir John Richardson he comes across more ISTJ-esque. TV series version is very much an ISTJ--insisting on following medical procedures as he understands them(Si) over the more novel ideas espoused by high Ne user Goodsir. Certainly does not care at all about collective emotional or group harmony but is blunt, surly and emotionally introverted, ergo Te/Fi over Fe/Ti. His decision to give everyone a "mercy" death by setting everyone--including himself--ablaze could be rare usage of inferior Ne coupled with Te executive decision-making.
