Binged the webtoon this weekend. Haven’t read the novel, I’ll get to it eventually. Definitely Se up there. Defo Fi-Te axis. So XSFP, but leaning towards ISFP. Fi: Often chooses to put himself in a disadvantageous position to make sure no one dies, but at the same time is very biased. “It’s ok if this one dies, but not in front of me” (Understands that his values are his only, and doesn’t impose them on others. Doesn’t judge Ilay for “sexual immorality” in the beginning. An Individualist.) Gets worried that he’ll be ‘tainted’ by his current environment. Mentally separates himself from his colleagues due to not wanting to be influenced by them, maintaining the ‘purity’ of Fi. Agonizes when he realizes his time with Ilay has made him less sensitive to death. (Fi re-evaluating to avoid hypocrisy, considers it his duty to protect his ‘humanity’) Uncle remarks that he’s typically very cautious and careful, but can get carried away by his emotions. The only argument I have for Fi over Se (that’s admittedly pretty weak) is that he really doesn’t confide his inner feelings despite being often vulnerable. He wants to come to a definite conclusion (Ni) about a person before telling them his thoughts (trying to understand Xinlu’s possessiveness before progressing the relationship; tentatively guessing Ilay likes him before being proven wrong and stopping physical relations) I think an ESFP would be more blunt and decisive about their feelings and be more upfront about them. “Xinlu, I like you but don’t like that you did this. Your behaviour disturbs me.” I also think an ESFP would have been a lot more impacted by the loss of his colleagues during the assistant instructor arc. To only be able to interact with Ilay & the doctor and have to censor every word to not get killed would have probably driven an ESFP insane. More introverted ESFPs exist, but he would have definitely interacted with more people during his stay at the Hong Kong hotel if he was one. Without Ilay, and with free reign to roam? Heck he probably would have talked to his tails and brought them out to eat. Ni: Lots of “bad feelings”, but never gets the whole picture before it happens, despite having all the pieces there AND multiple blatant hints. (Old architect man seems to have put lots of love into this hi-tech building, and he says he updates it every year…but there’s an entire floor they just condemned bc of a building mistake? Huh i wonder why they’re doing bomb testing on residential floors when there’s an entire unused 4th floor…) (Munitions company opening a branch in hong kong with suspicious timing. What a famous name, T&R. Who else deals in arms? Huh new instructor I wonder who it is…come on man.) Also, really won’t let go of his conclusions (Ni) once he’s decided: Ilay is dangerous and will kill anyone including him? Okay. And doesn’t question until way later that Ilay has given him many many chances he wouldn’t give to others. Ilay doesn’t like him? Okay. He remains convinced of it despite much proof to the contrary at that point, and despite having suspicions will not investigate them. Ne blind. (“No sense of danger despite his great instincts”, oblivious to others motivations until they spell it out for him later). I have a little more for Te, so i’ll add a comment to this one. Once again, please let me know if I’m going at this wrong, I’m pretty new to typing people.
