I read that she avoided taking her medication at the end of her life to avoid losing herself. Also, in her lecture about the inferior function, when she tells the story of Böhme she frames it as though him losing his conflict between the material and the spiritual was his downfall. I think both examples show a very 4ish way of the world, particularly the sp kind, who want to endure the suffering by themselves because they think they will become toughened up by it. sp 4s are harder to recognize than other 4s because they internalize their suffering and portray a stoic image.
