"Sarah Woodruffはどのような性格タイプですか? Sarah Woodruffは、INFP in MBTI、4w5 - so/sp - 458 in Enneagram、RLUAI in Big 5、IEI in socionics のパーソナリティタイプです。"

Sarah is so/sp NOT sp/sx! Social 4’s reveal their suffering to the world so they can attract sympathy and, thus, acceptance. Self-pres 4’s hide their suffering from the world so that others will not see it, preferring to be stoic. As a social 4, Sarah’s primary necessity was to have her suffering recognised by becoming an outcast. Only then, having been suicidal, could she go on. In loving her, Charles gave her this acceptance she was searching for, thus giving her “the strength to go on living” (Ch. 48). Here is how she fits the social 4 description from Enneagram Profiling: - The Social Four feels things deeply. (she is depicted as an intensely emotional character, whose “essence” is “emotion” - see Ch. 9.) - For this Four, there is a desire to be witnessed and seen in their suffering. (She became the French Lieutenant’s Woman “So that they should know I have suffered, and suffer, as others suffer” - Ch. 20.) - Envy fuels a focus on shame and suffering by providing a source of pain: a feeling that others have what the Four wants. (Sarah’s envy is very prominent, specifically for Mrs Talbot. She fixated on what Mrs T. had: a happy family life, and experienced “intolerable pain” in witnessing her happiness every day: “It came to seem to me as if I were allowed to live in paradise, but forbidden to enjoy it.” - Ch. 20.) - They believe that their suffering is also what makes them unique and special (“I am truly not like other women. I shall never have children, a husband, and those innocent little happinesses they have. And they shall never know the reason for my crime” - Ch. 20. The reason for her crime is suffering, as stated above.) - There is a kind of seduction of others through suffering (her visible suffering seduces Mrs Poulteney, Mrs Tranter and Charles - in his case, literally too - into assisting her in some way) - They want to be seen and accepted for who they are (this need is at Sarah’s core. Society did not accept her so she searched for acceptance elsewhere: with Charles and the Pre-Raphaelite community.) - They are not competitive but do compare themselves with others. (Again, Sarah compares herself to Mrs T. and Ernestina. However she doesn’t show competitiveness. This both helps prove she is a social 4 and rules out the possibility of so/sx as sx as the primary or secondary instinct makes a 4 competitive) In summary, Sarah is so/sp as she needed to have her suffering recognised (so), so that she could then continue on in life (sp). She is not competitive so sx is her blindspot. Please note that social 4’s aren’t social in the extroverted sense, but in that they are fixated on their place in the social system as an outsider. Thus they are mostly antisocial in behaviour. Enneagram Central has also typed Sarah as a social 4: http://www.enneagramcentral.com/Enneagram/Subtypes/Subtype%20Four%20Social.htm Happy to provide further explanation and analysis as I have written more!
