(1/8) Recent chapters have further confirmed why he's Fe/Ti over Te/Fi, and I will lay out why here + examine earlier events, and also address how his pragmatic and rather radical displays of force are merely manifestations of his socio Se and beta quadra. I think claiming that his attitude is a result of his enneagram is reductionistic at best and incorrect at worst, especially if the claim is for 8w9. https://mangarockteam.com/manga/akatsuki-no-yona/chapter-196/ ¶ Soo-won demonstrates the universalizing mindset and consideration for the collective good (Fe/Ti) rather than a contextualizing and egoistic mindset that prioritizes a sense of “good” stemming from personal values (Te/Fi). He willingly pushes personal attachments and sentiments aside (shown later in his life in his way of handling Yona and Hak) for the sake of achieving something for the greater good, the happiness and safety for his country and subjects, and not PRIMARILY because of a personally impactful experience, like revenge for his father's death (Fe>Fi). • This is shown here when we learn that he waited 10 years to observe if his uncle would be a good king for the nation as a whole before deciding to enact vengeance. Though he had personal emotions involved, it was tempered with this awareness that acting on them without rationality would be wrong (and HE is the one who tells those officials this), as well as a consideration for the people and nation as a whole, factoring in the contexts of people and elements outside of himself to be the judge of whether or not King Il deserved to die (Fe/Ti). "I don't think it's wise to move under the sway of our emotions. There are many things we don't know about His Majesty Il's thoughts. And if a power dispute breaks out right after a new king was crowned, the country will be thrown in to disarray...[to his mother] I have to make sure...if His Majesty Il is capable of protecting this country." • He had to justify to himself that it made sense logically (Ti) and from the perspective of the collective (Fe) to rid a country of an incompetent king in order to act on a personal vendetta, rather than being willing to justify actions via intense personal sentiment with no qualms (Fi). Look at the more intensely fueled Fi-users in vengeance quests, like Sasuke, Kurapika, or even Lauren Sinclair (Purple Hyacinth).
