I don’t know why ESTP voters have such difficulty proving their position. Se is the absolute, dominant, primary function of Yaniko, on the basis of which her personality and all the related plot twists are built. Every action she takes is motivated by extroverted sensing. All she needs in life is to smoke, eat, and drink; she doesn’t make long‑term plans, practically on principle, so she’s unable to even predict her future actions even ten seconds in advance. She satisfies any sensory need that arises in the moment, navigating the sensory field perfectly. If she needs money for cigarettes, she finds an old banknote by the barely noticeable rustle of the paper, or she locates an old, dirty cigarette in a trash bag by a small crease. She has an excellent reaction. Si and Te are absent as a class - Yaniko never learns from her own experience and steps on the same rake, is not disciplined, spits on the rules, does not remember her own promises, does not reflect, does not strive for achievements and career realization, is not greedy. But she does have Ti. In fact, it's always interesting to watch silly characters with high logic on the stack, like Eric Cartman's ENTJ or Peter Griffin's ENTP. I don’t know how it was in the manga, but in the anime, Yaniko not only doesn’t demonstrate Fi (more on that below), but also shows Ti. A telling example is when she comes into the room to see a crying Yakuko, who is clearly upset about her grandfather’s death and says, “Why do people…” Yaniko replies, “You’re not human,” which effectively closes the topic. She has no particular attitude towards people or beast‑people; she doesn’t have any obvious emotional reaction to the topic (which doesn’t mean that an ESTP can’t have one — they can, and quite strongly, but we’re talking about a character with a specific background, adjusted for their functions). She isn’t interested in the emotional aspect at all; she doesn’t care that her friend is crying. She merely makes a logical remark in response to a part of the phrase that she interpreted in her own way and didn’t bother to figure out. Another interesting similarity between her and Nazuna Kujo. They both justified their laziness with a lofty pseudo‑philosophy, exhibiting the same functions. Yaniko is an ESTP, Nazuna is an INFJ. Both use the Ti functions to construct a logical justification for their idleness; only in the case of the former it’s something stoically accepting — “I’m like a cloud, drifting through the sky and needing nothing,” while in the case of the latter it’s something near‑Buddhist, related to renunciation of worldly things. In the end, both turn out to be rather hypocritical — human needs are not alien to them, no matter what excuses they use. The point is that, due to their Fe functions, they feel the need to explain to others that they are simply following their established worldview, so as not to look like ordinary, down-and-out marginals in the eyes of others.
