I know there’s barely any votes on this profile, but wouldn’t Si dom make more sense? Piranesi was rather meticulous, organized, and adherent to routine. He kept a careful track of everything in his life, going as far as making an index that classified every journal entry of his according to alphabet letter. His memory was noteworthy, being able to recall his experiences with great detail and attention to his subjective impressions (of course, this is something that anybody can do, but if I’m not wrong, Si dom people tend to do it really well because that’s what the function is about) His writing was linear, and he did not ramble on about anything as far as I remember. He also did not think that much of the future, and was more in the here and now. He was devoted to his role as a scientist and as one of the people for finding the Knowledge, but he didn’t really sit down and try to imagine what it actually meant until much later in the book. He just tagged along with the Other’s plans for finding it, and only later did he question the sinister implications of some of the powers they would supposedly achieve from finding it. Inferior Ne can be in seen in how he did not quite pursue possibilities. For example, although he deduced the possible hidden message from the birds’ behavior in that one part of the book, he did not do anything to follow this idea, and instead chose to let it come to him first. There were many other times in which he was presented with something out of the ordinary but did not attempt to chase it, something I don’t believe someone with higher Ne would have done. I am aware that the House was all that he ever knew, but he never really questioned its logic and the things behind it, just accepted them. I don’t think this is behavior that would fit a Ti-Ne user like an INTP. Now comes the dilemma of whether he was an ISTJ or an ISFJ. I ended up choosing the former but he could also be the latter.
