In his day, most people went by their last names, but he was called Camille by his friends, as Charlotte wrote her memoirs many years later. From Mirabeau to Robespierre, there were always so many friends. He was still weeping before the guillotine, and Danton and his friends consoled him, but he was undeniably brave and determined, not only on July 12, 1789, but in the bloody year of 1794.If he wanted to, he would have many opportunities to reconcile with Robespierre, but he stood by his beliefs until the very last moment. Before the guillotine he begged the executioner to bring a lock of his hair to his wife. Please don't forget Camille, my friend, it may be difficult for you to agree with all his views, but don't forget what he did for the French Revolution, what he left for us.
