"I could restore balance to a broken world." He is trying to change the system, not the people themselves. (Te>Fe) He tries to change how the world itself works, also for the greater good, but more directed at systems and mechanics world instead of people. I think it's due to his desire to "change the world", he's not focused on people or their relations (Fe), but on how things are done by people (Te), how things are working in the world, and how he wants to change it. Te is about being systematic, functional, and efficient in the external standards of the world. "You see, humans are a unique type of pest, multiplying and poisoning our world, all while enforcing a structure of their own. A deeply unnatural structure." He doesn't want to "repair" people, actually, he wants to get rid of them, so that he will be able to change how things works. He wants to rid the world of the weak because of his own values.(Fi) He’s essentially “perfecting” the world. Much like Thanos I suppose. He used his Te all the time even when he was talking to el, how he narrated about himself observing the world in an impersonal view. And what I meant by the word “impersonal” was not his feelings, but how he referred to the world and society as if he was not part of it. As if he perceives them from above, observing their actions and implying / finding a meaning within those actions. And his unhealthy Ni-Te was so obvious because his intentions come from his visions and trying to “fix” the world which is such a Te thing to do because it’s all about structuring with how they want something to be. He may be so angry because he thinks the system is wrong, but it’s because of his enneagram being 1. Enneagram 1s want to think they’re right even though they are not, and combined with his functions, he tried to do something what he thought was right even though it’s clearly immoral. This is actually similar to another character, a character from Death Note, Light Yagami. His intentions were to change the world because he thinks that there are too many criminals wandering freely around the world, so he had an unhealthy vision to kill them all and start a new world, Because he’s led by his visions to create a new structure of what the thinks he’s right. Being people oriented doesn't make you an Fe user. If we take a look at his actual manipulation it wasn’t really based on emotions. He convinced 11 that papa was going to kill her (factual lie), obviously it would incite a reaction but that wasn’t the goal, he just wanted 11 to view staying as a threat in order to break him out. You could say him acting nice was emotional manipulation but it was quite basic, its not hard to simply act nice. Most of the manipulation there was about him just being a truth seeker (again factual). "I could not close off my mind and join in the madness. I could not pretend. And I realized I didn't have to. I could make my own rules." Carl Jung describing Te (Extroverted Thinking) : "This type of man elevates objective reality, or an objectively oriented intellectual formula, into the ruling principle not only for himself but for his whole environment. By this formula good and evil are measured, and beauty and ugliness determined. Everything that agrees with this formula is right, everything that contradicts it is wrong, and anything that passes by it indifferently is merely incidental." "Because this formula seems to embody the entire meaning of life, it is made into a universal law which must be put into effect everywhere all the time, both individually and collectively. Just as the extraverted thinking type subordinates himself to his formula, so, for their own good, everybody round him must obey it too, for whoever refuses to obey it is wrong - he is resisting the universal law, and is therefore unreasonable, immoral, and without a conscience." "His moral code forbids him to tolerate exceptions; his ideal must under all circumstances be realized, for in his eyes it is the purest conceivable formulation of objective reality, and, therefore, must also be generally valid truth, quite indispensable for the salvation of man." "Not so much in spite of as because of the highly impersonal character of the conscious attitude, the unconscious feelings are highly personal and oversensitive, giving rise to certain secret prejudices, as, for instance, a decided readiness to misconstrue any objective opposition to his formula as personal ill-will, or a constant tendency to make negative suppositions regarding the qualities of others in order to invalidate their arguments beforehand-in defence, naturally, of his own susceptibility. As a result of this unconscious sensitiveness, his expression and tone frequently becomes sharp, pointed, aggressive, and insinuations multiply."
