I think 5s are more in their heads just because. 9s however are withdrawn/quiet because they're usually disconnected from reality and need a lot of time to recharge imo. It depends whether they find a clique to join. Suppose you observe them being interpellated by the teacher: a 5 would be most likely less engaged if the topic didn't catch their interest in particular, which happens with frequency and thus render them a false lazy label (some XNTXs used to hate school because of that, it was just... boring). Perhaps a 9 would try something if given the opportunity, with their natural agreeable, passive behavior and resting, friendly yet apathetic face. Not to mention, 5s are more anxious than 9s. In the end, both fit, depending on the perspective, but, in general, a 9 would be a tad more approachable/participative if needed than a 5 in my perspective.
