IYO SKY/Io Shirai is INTJ - Neutral Evil. she's a typical machiavellian villainess, been that for most of her career. honestly, as a emotionally unstable character like io—once a heel, always a heel. personally on my 2 year experience with a burning passion for this character, this cunning, meticulous yet with her moments of impulsiveness, all filled with rage, reminds me a lot of characters like sasuke uchiha, genshin's scaramouche/wanderer, warriors' tigerclaw/tigerstar and even lion king's scar (which is my favorite comparison of all.) she's been everything. a pawn to a queen, a henchwoman in triple tails to a leader on a quest to dominate stardom's division. but what has always caught my eye is that she has always had this thirst for power—to prove something, she must stay on top. not to mention her fear of attachment and bonds, betraying every single friend of hers that gives a single sign of infidelity. she's insecure, her rage moves her, a control freak that craves for the top. what makes her neutral evil is that she doesn't do evil for fun or chaos—it's survival. her betrayals come from that well of abandoment and being left aside, she'll do good if it suits her, like she is doing now—but she'll do evil if it means having the throne over others. i said i really think she reminds me of scar, but the big difference between the two is that she doesn't follow a code—she's not following rules or structures, she's breaking them. using people as stepping stones, like aaaall of the girls that she brainwashed into evil in the queen's quest era. anyone close to her is either a pawn or a threat—there are no allies. "no human being is worthy of standing next to io shirai." this is pure NiTe. if a filthy decision is needed in the moment, even if it costs her something precious like bonds, she will take that. and then, she'll smirk with pride as she stands tall over all. she sees situations before they happen, she betrays and punishes acquaintances if it means getting rid of possible threats to her reign. Se being the inferior function is clear—she won't connect to the world around her, she'll run from it. and Fi is her devotion to her principles—she knows what's good or bad, but she'll work to make things turn out right regardless of what way she turns. she knows she's doing bad, but it gives her power. i believe all of this fear of abandonment comes from triple tails kayfabe. she's been always a menace, but since her departure from the faction she's been a control freak like that. it's like if being the underdog compared to her sister shifted something in her mind, and personally, i believe the betrayal phenomenon comes from kana. corey graves mentioned in a scripted line before their title match in smackdown that (kayfabe) iyo betrayed asuka back in triple tails, they have this unresolved tension that's been going on for 15 years. we can clearly see asuka moves iyo like no other, which is why she avoids her so much—it's a threat. you can also tie her behavior towards important people like asuka to her cognitive functions. the way she avoids them because it imposes a threat to her status, and how she takes these decisions because it'll benefit her. these dynamics show her soft side, she avoids those feelings, but they *are* there, you know? and they show when she faces people who matter deeply to her, like kana. behind all of that serious persona is a woman with many feelings—she has good in her, but that never worked to make her shine. it's funny to look at her babyface self now and think this, but villain/antagonist iyo is a very underrated concept, one that i enjoy and portray a lot in my art of her. complex girl with complex feelings, it truly is hard to understand iyo, but i'm willing to.
