The Punk music of the 70's led to the Post Punk musical revolution which gave birth to New Wave of the 80's (e.g. the British Invasion) and eventually formed Alternative music of the 90's and 2000's. Some musicians of well known Indie Rock groups of the 2000's would fit in this category as well.
